Tips on water no one ever told you! 2/10/05

Virgil Aponte

Here are some excellent tips I learned about water from Paul Chek's amazing “You are What You Eat” audio course. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking to learn about eating for optimal strength & health.

Here's what I learned:

Dehydration can lead to a condition called auto-intoxication:

Basically this means that your bodies waste sits in your colon far too long and starts to seep into your system. This can lead to a host of problems as you can imagine. As we all know the waste in your colon is meant to find its way to a toilet and not into your system.

Arthritis pain can be linked to dehydration:

This may not sound like a big deal but think about this for a second. Many people that suffer from arthritis are using medical drugs to help alleviate the symptoms. These drugs can help but many times can have very serious side effects. Wouldn't you rather keep your body hydrated to see if that helps before you take a powerful medical drug?

Low back pain & neck can sometimes be linked to dehydration:

Back & neck pain is another example of this problem. Many people visit chiropractors, therapist, doctors, and take pain medications to alleviate the pain associated with back & neck pain. Again, wouldn't you rather see if water can alleviate these symptoms first?

I know I would.

Dehydration has been linked to high blood pressure:

Again many people are on powerful medications for high blood pressure that can have very serious side effects. I would much rather find out if properly hydrating yourself would help before taking a medical drug.

In his audio series Paul Chek recommends drinking½ your bodyweight in ounces of water per day. So if you weigh 150 pounds you will need to take in 75 ounces if water per day or around 9 cups of water.

I suggest you start off slowly. With this recommendation I needed 95 ounces or water per day and I started drinking too much which lead to many visits to the bathroom. But once your body adapts to the extra water everything will be fine.

As always, I hope these tips and ideas can help you or someone you know.
